About Me

About Me
Hi, I’m Rithara Kithmanthie — a second-year student at the University of Moratuwa, pursuing a BSc in Information Technology. I love diving into new technologies just to see what I can create next.
I’ve worked on various projects using Next.js, Flutter, React, Angular, .NET and Springboot, and I enjoy building full-stack apps with clean architecture and smooth UI. During my internship at Calcey Technologies, I got hands-on experience in QA engineering, and I’m now looking forward to taking on more software engineering roles.
As the Vice Chairwoman of IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) – UoM, I’ve had the privilege of mentoring student-led projects and organizing impactful tech events that bring people together. I also placed second in the DataStorm 5.0 Analytics Competition, competing with over 150 teams from across the country.
On the fun side — I’m an extrovert, a huge Marvel fan, a manga lover, and someone who enjoys connecting with people, whether it’s through tech, music, or casual conversation. ✨
Let’s connect and create something awesome!

A variety of full-stack, mobile, and experimental projects. All powered by caffeine and curiosity.

3+ Years of Experience

Been coding since bugs feared me. From hackathons to production apps, I’ve been around.

1000+ Hours of Coding

The secret sauce to my skills. Countless hours spent debugging, learning, and creating.

My Highlights

QA Intern at Calcey Technologies

image

I got the opportunity to work as a QA Intern at Calcey Technologies for a six-month internship. During that time, I worked on three different projects, guided by three amazing mentors from each project. My work involved UX demos, bug reporting, writing test cases, and performing regression testing. This experience taught me a lot about real-world software processes. It was a bit challenging to juggle it with university since it wasn't during the official internship period — but I made it work.

DataStorm 5.0 — 2nd Place!

image

We won second place in the DataStorm 5.0 Analytics Competition out of 150 teams. In the first round, we had to build a supervised model, followed by an unsupervised model in the second. The final round pushed us even further, where we had to use LLMs to create an AI model and pitch it to a panel. A lot of the concepts were new to us, especially as first-years, but we learned fast and managed to implement everything within a tight deadline. It was an intense but unforgettable experience that really boosted our confidence in data science and teamwork.

Vice Chairwoman – IEEE WIE UoM

image

I'm currently the Vice Chairwoman of the IEEE WIE Affinity Group of UoM. Alongside academics and group projects, I've chaired events, coordinated and guided members, and mentored several projects as well. It's been a rewarding experience that's helped me grow as a leader while giving back to a community I care about.
